KATA STAFF
Esther Atera KATA ID G13
KATA Potato Program Manager
With a strong educational background and extensive experience in the potato farming industry, Esther is perfectly suited to oversee the KATA Potato Program. She ensures that all planting cycles run efficiently across KATA farms. Esther works closely with farmers to implement the two-acre rotation plan — where one acre is harvested while the second acre, on a separate piece of land, is being planted. This system allows each farmer to complete up to four harvests per year.
Several KATA farmers will be managing more than two acres, and the same rotation principle will be applied to maintain productivity and soil health. After each harvest, the land will rest for 3–4 months before the next planting begins, ensuring continued fertility and sustainable yields. Esther’s key responsibility is to make sure this process operates smoothly and consistently throughout the entire KATA network.
