About the Camp
KATA Potato Farm – F01x (Justice Kipkirui) – Kongoi, Kenya
Nestled in the fertile highlands of Kongoi, Kenya, the KATA Potato Farm F01x is managed by Justice Kipkirui, a dedicated farmer operating two thriving acres of Shangi potatoes. His farm exemplifies the spirit of KATA’s “Fuel of Champions” mission—linking agriculture and athletics to build stronger communities and support world-class training across Kenya.
At an altitude ideal for potato production, Justice’s farm contributes directly to both food sustainability and athlete performance, reinforcing KATA’s vision that success begins in the soil. Through his leadership and commitment, F01x stands as a model for future KATA farms—where purpose, productivity, and performance grow side by side.
KATA Potato Farms – Fueling Champions Across Kenya
Stretching across Kenya’s fertile highlands, the KATA Potato Farms form the agricultural backbone of the KATA Running Camp Program — where performance meets purpose.
Each farm contributes to the mission of “KATA Potatoes – The Fuel of Champions,” cultivating nutrient-rich Shangi potatoes that nourish both athletes and the communities around them.
Situated between 1,800 and 2,800 meters in altitude, these farms thrive in regions known for their cool temperatures, fertile volcanic soils, and dependable rainfall averaging 900–1,200 mm per year.
This natural balance makes Kenya’s highlands among the most ideal environments in the world for both potato cultivation and distance-runner development.
Every KATA farm not only grows potatoes but also supports a local KATA Running Camp, forming a self-sustaining system where agriculture and athletics work hand in hand.
Together, these farms provide both the fuel and the foundation for the next generation of world-class champions.
